About Old Ottawa South

Situated between the Rideau Canal to the north and the Rideau River to the east and south, Old Ottawa South is on of Ottawa’s oldest neighbourhoods. Its most famous pioneers, Lewis Williams and family, came from Wales in 1818 and settled on approximately 111 acres between what is now Bronson and Main streets. 

The Old Ottawa South Community Association keeps Old Ottawa South a pleasant, fulfilling, and meaningful place to live. It offers social events to strengthen community bonds, educational, sports, fitness, and recreational programming, and ensures that the community’s interests are reflected and communicated to the public, the City of Ottawa, and other government agencies.
