Arnprior has a rich history dating back to the early 19th century when it was first settled by European immigrants, primarily Scottish and Irish settlers. The town’s name is believed to be derived from the ancestral home of one of its early settlers, Archibald McNab, who named the area after Arnprior in Scotland. Arnprior’s economy was initially driven by lumber and timber industries, and it later became known for its manufacturing and industrial sectors.

Today, Arnprior residents enjoy the many amenities the town has to offer. Its scenic location along the Ottawa River provides access to boating, fishing, hiking, biking, picnicking, and enjoying nature in its numerous parks, trails, and green spaces.
