Paul learned this versatility in his previous career roles. He started out in restaurant management before making his way to high tech working for large corporations such as Adobe and Cognos, which taught him to be extremely organized. Later, he became a multi-unit Subway franchisee for ten years. There he refined his natural people skills and also developed a talent for reviewing commercial leases.
However, real estate had been calling to Paul for many years. When finally he decided to heed the call, he obtained his real estate license and switched to the career of his dreams.
Paul truly enjoys putting in the necessary hard work to walk people through the home buying and selling process. He values educating his clients about the current real estate picture and helping them make the right decision. What is the secret of Paul’s success? You may be surprised to hear that it’s his easygoing style. He explains, “I was raised to treat others the way you want to be treated. So I don’t bring in an aggressive sales pitch. I always put myself in the buyer’s or seller’s shoes because I realize no one wants to be pressured. It’s a way of gaining mutual trust.”
Another factor is Paul’s strategic “game plan.” He researches potential deals in great depth. For example, if you are considering the purchase of a certain house, perhaps a new build, Paul will check important details for you. For example, he’ll research the amount of nearby traffic, future development or whether hydro poles will be located right next to your home.
What does Paul love most about being a realtor? “I enjoy meeting people, talking to them, and putting smiles on their faces. Working in real estate, I wake up excited about it every day.”
Outside the Office
Paul’s hobbies are cooking, music, watching and coaching football as well as getting to the gym when possible. Best of all, though, is spending time with his two sons.
Giving Back
Paul cares about giving back to the community. Over the past two decades, he has been a volunteer football coach at both the local and provincial levels. In the future, he’d like to become involved with the CHEO, as he’s had a family member treated there before. “I remember being in awe of all nurses and amazing people who cared for my cousin. Watching the dedication and tireless efforts from the staff who did their best to put a smile on every child’s face truly inspired me to become a better man and to continue paying it forward.”
