Shopping & Dining Out
Westboro is a supremely walkable Ottawa community with a lively street scene.
You’ll find everything you need at a business or boutique along Richmond Road or Churchill Avenue. So, do as the locals do; pop into MEC or Bushtukah outdoor gear and visit Lulumon and Canadian staple Roots for athletic apparel.
After shopping, stop in one of the countless highly-rated restaurants in Westboro for a bite. Choose Pure Kitchen for vegan and vegetarian fare, Chesterfield’s Gastro Diner for a to-die-for brunch, The WORKS for craft burgers and beer, or the french Savoy Brasserie for a lovely meal you won’t soon forget.
The many excellent schools scattered throughout Westboro offer diverse programs, including early French immersion instruction. To learn more about schooling options in different corners of the community, visit the local school board websites:
- The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB)
- Conseil des Ecoles Publiques de l’Est de l’Ontario (CEPEO)
- The Ottawa Catholic School Board (OCSB)

Westboro residents appreciate the short drive to the city centre. There’s easy access to downtown via Highway 417 (aka the Queensway), and it’s not uncommon to see commuters using the bike path year-round.
Westboro also has multiple OC Transpo stations, and in a few short years, the Confederation line (from Tunney’s Pasture out to Moodie Drive further west) will run directly through Westboro Village.
