Join us for the 2019 Santa’s Parade of Lights in Orleans

A Front Row Seat and Treats at Santa’s Parade of Lights in Orleans

If you’re planning on attending the Orleans parade, our own Angie White talks about how you could get a front row seat at our office.

“We’ve rented bleachers and we’re putting them in the parking lot,” Angie says. “We’ve done it for years at this point.”

Traffic starts to be reduced starting at 5:30pm, so we suggest getting here by 5pm. (See map above)

The bleachers will take up approximately the whole parking lot. “They’re huge!” Angie laughs. “They’ll easily fit about 100 people.” These 100 people will have a great view of the parade as it travels down St-Joeseph’s Boulevard.

After the parade, the office will be opened up to continue the holiday feeling. “It’s a place for people to warm up, get a hot chocolate and a treat, or use the bathroom,” Angie explains.

A Part of the Orleans Community

For us, it’s not just about dressing up and experiencing some Christmas fun. It’s about doing it with our community.

“It’s about having fun with the kids, and being a part of the community,” Angie explains. “We’re not just a real estate company. Whether it’s through our charity work, or events like the parades, we always want to be involved.”

Road Closures – Official Statement

The roads in Orleans will have some temporary adjustments prior to Parade time on Saturday, November 24:

Beginning at 1PM (13:00 hrs.) St-Joseph Blvd between Youville Dr. and Hart Rd. will be reduced to one lane traffic in each direction to accommodate the marshalling of parade entries.

Traffic will not be blocked until approximately 5:30 PM (17:30 hrs.) at the discretion of the Ottawa Police Services. We suggest entering Orleans via HWY 174 and exiting Jeanne d’Arc Blvd. or Place d’Orleans Dr.. An alternate method is to approach from the South (ie. Innes Rd) using Jeanne d’Arc or Orleans Blvd. to reach St-Joseph Blvd.

As parade time nears (roughly 5:30 PM), St-Joseph Blvd will be shut down in sections beginning with Youville to Jeanne d’Arc and then moving east in sections. Any vehicles exiting the parade route prior to parade time will be sent down St-Joseph Blvd. eastward.

Parade start time is 6PM (18:00 hrs.)

Once the float carrying Santa passes, the roads will be open to normal traffic.

Our parade generally takes 60-70 minutes to pass any given point along the parade route. If you’re watching near the start point, it should be clear around 7:00-7:10 PM. If you’re watching near the end point, the front of the parade will pass you around 7:10PM and be clear around 8:20PM.

We anticipate large crowds and hope all parade watchers will be patient for the safety and enjoyment of everyone involved. We take may precautions in regards to safety and ask everyone to arrive early and enjoy the parade and then disperse knowing many children will be around. Please watch for children who may not be looking at vehicle traffic.

Best Regards and Enjoy the Parade,
