Distance: 50 km (from downtown Ottawa)
Highlights: Near Kemptville, this site is perfect for those who love to fish or canoe but also want to stick close to home. The beach is a treat for kids.
Wesley Clover Park
Distance: 18 km
Highlights: If you want to stay really close but still feel like you’re in the woods, this site just east of Kanata is a good option. It also holds lots of events at the park’s fields next to the campground. There are trails, biking and other activities, plus glamping cabins for those who don’t want to go as rustic as a tent.
Sharbot Lake Provincial Park
Distance: 125 km
Highlights: Surrounded by clear, beautiful lakes, this spot is perfect for those who love to be out on the water with fishing, canoeing and swimming to enjoy in Ottawa, plus nature trails, plus biking, birding and more.
Murphys Point Provincial
Park Distance: 100 km
Highlights: Located on Big Rideau Lake, it’s close to the Silver Queen Mine, an early 1900s mica mine that offers tours. There’s also great hiking with lots of wildlife to spot.
Fitzroy Provincial Park
Distance: 60 km
Highlights: This campsite is shaded by old trees, which really makes you feel like you’re camping in the middle of a forest. It’s a great place to relax and get away from the city without going too far. The beach is great for kids, plus there are lots of shady spots to make sure you don’t get too much sun.
Cardinal KOA
Distance: 82 km
Highlights: A family friendly campground with heated pool, splashpad, kids climbing wall, big bouncer, mini golf and a pirate ship playground. The site also has glamping cabins.
Ivy Lea KOA
Distance: 150 km
Highlights: At the outer edge of our range, this site is on the beautiful Thousand Islands at Lansdowne. It’s within walking distance to boat cruises, diving, boat rentals, golf and more and offers a whack of activities and amenities.
Sleepy Cedars Family Camping
