Experience & Background
As our Closing Administrator, Susan plays a key role in bringing transactions smoothly across the finish line. In constant contact with agents, lawyers, and internal staff, she ensures every detail is accurate and compliant, coordinating the complex moving parts that turn accepted offers into successful closings.
Susan’s path to real estate began in 2017, and she joined the Paul Rushforth team in 2021. Over the years, she developed a fine eye for detail and problem-solving abilities through an impressive career spanning 20 years at Royal Bank of Canada in accounting and audit roles, plus 16 years as an administrative assistant at major investment firms.
Now, the entire Paul Rushforth Real Estate team is reaping the benefits of her meticulous approach and financial expertise.
She masterfully multi-tasks and handles the critical behind-the-scenes work that ensures clients experience seamless closings: managing documentation, audit processes, and the countless administrative details that make all the difference.
Outside the Office
Outside of work, Susan uses any chance she can get to spend time with family, especially her young grandchildren. She helps to plan fun getaways, like camping, a lifelong passion of hers.
The Adirondack Mountains are a favourite destination, and she brings extended family to the same campsite she visited when she was a child.
At home, Susan enjoys gardening and making beautiful wooden signs. She freehand draws, paints, and weatherizes seasonal and holiday-themed signs. Loved ones are the lucky recipients of these gifts.
Giving Back
Susan regularly donates to the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), but her desire to help others extends to furry friends as well.
She adopts rescue animals and is a PAW member of the Ottawa Humane Society. Her donations support the organization’s efforts to save animals in our community.
