Steve has lived in Ottawa all his life, and knows the pros and cons of every neighbourhood in the city. A licensed realtor since 2012, Steve is a people person who’s got a real feel for managing details and communicating, whether you’re a first time buyer or a seasoned homeowner.
A licensed realtor since 2012, Steve has lived in Ottawa his entire life. This gives him a deep understanding of the pros and cons of every neighbourhood in Ottawa.
He’s detail-oriented, and this former event planner is definitely an expert when it comes to managing the details of your new home purchase or sale. “You have to be able to juggle,” he laughs. “You never know when new situations can come up that need to be handled. It’s all a part of the process.”
Steve has been a part of the Paul Rushforth Real Estate team since 2010. “There’s a pretty incredible group of people here. That’s why I’ve been here for 7 years. The information sharing is exceptional, and I love putting that to work for my clients.”
He loves helping home buyers, home sellers, and investors alike. “I love that there’s something different every day, and I also like getting out there and meeting people face to face. Best of all, I love the excitement that comes with finding someone the perfect home.”
Steve knows his clients are all unique and have unique needs. “Some clients want to know everything, but others are busy and just want to know if there’s something major. My ability to quickly read what my clients are looking for in an agent is part of what I bring to the table.”
He is also very level-headed, which is helpful when it comes to managing dramatic developments during negotiations and closings. “Buying or selling a home can be a very emotional process, so it helps to have someone who’s seen it all on your side,” he notes.
Charity Work and Favourite Causes
Steve was instrumental in the development of the annual Paul Rushforth Charity Golf Tournament. “As a former event planner, I thought I could help by getting a charity golf tournament off the ground. Paul is such a naturally giving guy, he said ‘yes’ immediately. Together, we’ve worked on an event that’s raised over $115,000 over the last 5 years for some very worthy causes.”
Some of Steve’s favourite causes are local ones that may not get as much attention as they deserve. Do It For Daron helps prevent youth suicide by inspiring conversations about mental health. The Orléans-Cumberland Resource Centre helps local people of all ages with job assistance, counselling, early childhood education, and a food bank.
Family Life and Relaxation
Steve loves spending time with his son, and travelling with his fiancée – especially road trips. He’s a fan of many sports, with a special love of hockey. He plays ball hockey every week and softball in summer, and but can also find him out on the golf course when he can make the time.
